The tide clock provides an "at-a-glance" indication of tidal state by means of the extra blue hand - showing high, low and half tides - which follows the lunar cycle (taking approximately half an hour longer to go "round the clock" than the hour hand. A single quartz movement powers all the hands. The faces have Arabic numerals.
IMPORTANT - Because the lunar cycle varies in length day by day but is constant over a period of 28 days, there will be times when the tide indicator varies by a few minutes ahead or behind the actual tides. This is insignificant for most needs but may need consideration in areas with very strong or double tides, short slack periods etc. Reference to tables is essential for accurate navigation.
